I'm just going to make this quick because I want you to focus on the information in this post and not my opinion.
You are funding the GOP™.
You don't mean to. You Vote Democrat. You even donate to Democrats. You don't like Republican™ Policies. Yet you are providing them with funding to defeat you.
How?
The things you buy everyday.
The GOP™ get most of their campaign funding from corporations. When you buy products from these corporations, you are giving them money to give to the GOP™. You are not a bad person. This information is not advertised to you. Besides, if you have a life and things to do, it's hard to keep track of everything. I understand.
There is only one thing we can do besides voting (please do this).
We must start a boycott movement.
Not just a boycott, but a boycott movement. Don't boycott for a month. Boycott forever.
If you bring down the ones funding the Republican Party™, you bring down the Republican Party™. And please don't feel bad about it. They've been doing it to us for years. The GOP™ war on unions is one part to give corporations more power by destroying unions that secure worker's rights and benefits to make the corporations more money, and the other part to destroy the Democrats #1 donors.
We need to go big or go home. We need a nationwide boycott of those trying buy this country out from underneath us.
I'm going to list some of the GOP's™ top donors. The companies that fund them and the products they make. Please print this or write this down and stop buying these products and services. We can shake things up and make a difference, all we have to do is work together.
BOYCOTT: GOP™ Donors
KOCH Industries contributed $2,147,513 to the Republican Party™ in 2010 and are a major force behind the Teaparty™ and the Wisconsin GOP's™ Anti-Union Measure.
KOCH Industries products include...

Soft n' Gentle® toilet paper

Gold's Gym®
OMNI Hotels®

These major companies heavily donate to the Republican Party and/or conservative causes.

While there are many more, we'll stop there for now. It's better to begin by focusing on a small group than to overwhelm ourselves.
Please do what you can to boycott these products/services and spread awareness by asking friends and family to do the same. There are alternatives to every one of the mentioned products/services. I know it can be a pain, but it's for a good cause.
You know what to do... or what not to do. Works either way I guess :) I will be boycotting all these companies and I hope you will join me.
I know that many say boycotts don't work and so on and so forth... they may be right. However, I know what doing nothing does and that's not an option.

What about the campaign contributions that Obama & the Dems took from corporations..Wall Street, Big Oil Companies (he took money from BP), etc?
ReplyDeleteAre you gonna boycott those evil corporations too? I'm not a GOP supporter either, but you people are HYPOCRITES!
I know you'll take this post off of ur little blog, but I just wanted to point that out to you.
HaHa!
George Mason is correct that the problem most likely is more than what the Conservatives are doing to sell us out.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I am not sure what the answer should be. Just boycotting these businesses is okay. Is it effective. And when my side, Progressives, make deals for campaign donations from the evil ones what am I to think.
I think the system is corrupt and needs to be stopped. The manner in which we elect our representatives is completely corrupted. How can we change that?
Another option would be to work to change the system and reduce or eliminate the influence of large corporations and wealthy individuals. Right, left, or center, our political system is corrupted by the influence of money. Personally, I'm working with www.coffeepartyusa.com towards this goal.
ReplyDeleteCampaign reform is the best answer, but if your campaign was funded by corporate money, would you vote against it? too many politicians are bought. I'm already boycotting BP, who else you got George Mason?
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more powerful in the hands of the individual than the power of our hard earned dollar. It matters to me where I spend my money. I do my best to avoid places like Walmart/Sam's Club, Meijer, Home Depot, BP, the Gap retail group (includes Banana Republic and Old Navy) because I don't believe their business practices are ethical. imagine how effective we could be en masse? and once we have crippled their profit margins,(and therefor the availability of spending money on political donations) perhaps campaign reform won't be so far out of reach.
